ABOUT CULINARY CAPERS...

Founded in 2002, Culinary Capers began as a personal chef service for busy families and professionals in the southern New Hampshire area. Offering healthy, home-cooked meals delivered kitchen-to-kitchen was a new and growing industry that had found a home in Windham, NH.

Within a year, the popularity for the gourmet menus expanded to event catering and office catering for both personal chef clients and others referred by existing clientele. Keeping customer service paramount at all times, the staff of Culinary Capers never sacrificed quality or customer satisfaction for speed or growth. Since its establishment, the Culinary Capers staff has expanded from one executive chef to more than 6, including one executive chef, 3 sous chefs and 2 event managers/assistants.

Today, Culinary Capers offers full-service catering and event management for dinner parties, corporate events, weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs and other special events as well as personal chef catering services. Customers still come first, and accommodating clients’ needs, dietary and otherwise, is the most important part in any Culinary Capers’ event.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER...
Lisa Martin
Executive Chef & Founder

A native New Englander, Lisa grew up in the hospitality industry and began her career at a young age working alongside her grandparents at Tucker Hill Lodge in Fayston, VT. It was there she learned that customer satisfaction is the key to success in catering and event management and where she established her tradition for putting her clients’ needs first.

Enjoying the challenge and fast pace of banquets and catering, she later worked at the Sugarbush Inn in Warren, VT. She also worked in event catering at The Charles Hotel in Cambridge, MA and at the Marriott in Burlington, MA, expanding her knowledge and experience with gourmet food and dramatic presentation.

When it came time to slow down and spend more time with her family, Lisa decided to take her extensive knowledge and experience in event catering and begin her own personal chef service and catering business. Her success as an entrepreneur soon made the idea of slowing down something of the past, but today she balances the rigors of her growing company along with the demands of two children as well as participating in various social and business groups in Windham, New Hampshire and the surrounding community.

Lisa’s study of the culinary arts began in her family kitchen where she enjoyed experimenting with both old family classics and exotic new dishes. In her professional life, she worked closely with the culinary masters in Vermont and Boston and learned the secrets of true gourmet dining. Lisa holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Vermont, and continues her education in the culinary arts through books, classes and seminars. Cooking is her passion and she welcomes the new challenges her business and clients present each day. Lisa is a member of the Tri-County BNI Referral Group located in Derry, NH where she is currently on the Membership Committee. In those rare moments when she isn’t taking care of someone else’s needs, Lisa enjoys golf, cycling, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
